Update from ThriftyGrl...
and what's next!

Hey everyone!  It's ThriftyGrl!!! : )

As many of you know, I recently became seriously ill and needed urgent medical treatment out of state.  I took a very long hiatus from ThriftyGrl and thankfully, my right-hand-man ThriftyGuy was here to keep things running smoothly for me.

I first want to say how much I appreciate all of the well wishes, prayers, cards, and contributions from everyone.  It's crazy how you can be perfectly fine one minute and so seriously ill the next.  These past few months have been scary, sad, adventurous and ultimately, life changing.  Thankfully, I was able to see some amazing doctors at the Mayo Clinic, who were able to quickly diagnose and treat me.  I am feeling so much better, getting back into the swing of things, and feel forever changed.  My outlook is very positive, my illness (although not curable) is treatable, and ThriftyGuy and I are enjoying life like never before.  Day by day, adventure by adventure, smiling and laughing as we go.

Again, I can't thank everyone enough for all of the support.  I went from being told I only had 3 months to live to feeling amazing and truly understanding what it's like to live life to it's fullest, not stress about the small stuff, and enjoy every moment that I have.  Heck, I even laughed when I got the $16k lab bill in the mail.  (Yep, that was just for my blood tests - and I still have many more to go!  Yikes!)  I guess there really is a price for your life, and it can be pretty expensive!!

So basically, I just ask that you hang with me as I get back in the swing of things to bring you all that you have come to know and love about ThriftyGrl.  ThriftyGuy and I have lots of exciting things in store for you and look forward to saving money, scoring great deals, and most importantly - having fun with you all while we do it!  : )

With lots of heart, faith, and love,
