Operation Help ThriftyGrl!

As many of you know, ThriftyGrl has been rather ill these past few months and I have been trying my best not only to take care of her but also run the blog in her absence.  She has come and gone from it briefly, but remains focused on getting better and working with her doctors to hopefully make a quick recovery.

It's been tough both emotionally and financially, but the one thing I can always count on is ThriftyGrl, who keeps her head high, focuses on what needs to be done, and remains positive.  The one thing that is tough is the unknown - the financial part.  When she can't work, when we have to use up our savings, when the bills come in.  It's hard to ask for help, but I've realized that sometimes you have to swallow your pride and ask for a bit of help.  Because sometimes everyone needs a little help.

I had written about all of this before (you can read about it here).  I had simply asked for donations of any kind if anyone could manage.  And some graciously did.  Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

I didn't want to pursue this too much, as I was hoping ThriftyGrl would be better by now.  Unfortunately the doctors are sending her to the Mayo Clinic in Florida for further evaluation and treatment.  They feel this is her best option.

So once again, I humbly come before you all and ask if you can help, we would be forever grateful.  ThriftyGrl and I want to reinforce the fact that we do this blog out of the kindness of our hearts and never, ever expect anything in return.  We hope that this plea will not turn anyone away from the ThriftyGrl website.  We just are old school and follow the old adage, if you don't ask, you don't know.  And as tough as it is for us to swallow our pride and ask for a bit of help during this difficult time, we have come to realize that everyone needs a little help sometimes.  And unfortunately our time is now.

There are a variety of ways to help....

If you want something for your money, you can visit our fundraising website and get some goodies for yourself or someone you love.  From magazines to cookie dough to Restaurant.com gift certificates, everything is pretty reasonably priced.  And the best part?  ThriftyGrl gets 40% of the sale!  Click here to visit the site for more info!

If you'd rather make a donation via paypal, click here.  Aside from a small transaction fee, ThriftyGrl is able to keep almost all of the money.   (Last time some reported trouble with the link.  If that's the case, use my email address - ottawada at yahoo dot com) to send the money to.

If you'd like to show your support by sending something to ThriftyGrl, here's our mailing address:
P.O. Box 141
Fuquay Varina, NC 27526
Again, a huge thank you from both of us during this difficult time.  Thanks for sticking with our blog, for the prayers and well wishes, and for being so supportive and patient!

Thanks and God Bless!

Sincerely,
ThriftyGuy

Hey, I'm sorry to hear your wife is sick. I live a couple of miles from you and came to your awesome yard sale when the neighborhood had one last spring. (Still wish I had bought the ceramic dog treat jar for my sister...not that she's a dog, but she has one...)

While there I picked up a business card and found it recently when cleaning (yes, I am that much of a slob that I just found it again).

The web site is teriffic and I just ordered MAD magazine for my school from your link.

I hope everything is better for your family soon.
