I, like many girls, enjoy wearing makeup. One problem I have found over the years is that it can be especially tough finding the right foundation... color, coverage, brand, etc. I've noticed that while I like the store brands (
CoverGirl especially), many can actually
highlight wrinkles and fine lines.
Yikes. Yet paying for the department store foundation that promises extra coverage and benefits is out of the question - that stuff can get pricey!
So what's a ThriftyGrl to do? Enter

CoverBlend Concealing Treatment Makeup,

NeoStrata Problem Dry Skin Cream. I was anxious about trying them, hoping they would do exactly what they promised. What I found was better than I could have imagined...
The first product I tried was the
CoverBlend Concealing Treatment Makeup with SPF 20. I must say, their foundation is
phenomenal. I was worried that I had to pick the color off the Internet (
as opposed to being able to see it in person and in the natural light). I was relieved to find that the color was a perfect match, the coverage was flawless, and the overall effect was priceless. Every time I wear it, people always compliment me on my perfect complexion (
Me? Perfect complexion?!) Plus, I have found that I only need a
tiny dab each day, meaning that the container they sent me will last and last! What more can I say? I am officially a huge fan of this and do not foresee myself returning to any of my old foundations anytime soon!!
Speaking of good skin, another ritual I am a huge fan of is weekly face masks. Whether they are clay or the peely kind, I love knowing that I am taking great care of my skin (and hopefully will be warding off wrinkles and fine lines for as long as possible!) Fortunately, EssentialDermCare sent me their
Exuviance Rejuvenating Treatment Masque to give a whirl. The masque, while a gel, applies a bit thin - so depending on how thick you like your "peel" to be, you may have to cake it on a bit. It instantly had a cooling feeling that was very refreshing and tingly - it felt great! The mask hardened quickly and before I knew it, my wait time was up! I was worried to remove it, as some masks hurt when you pull them, feeling like super glue ripping your skin off your face! However, this was not the case with the Exuviance mask
at all - it was a soft, yet satisfying peel, knowing that I was purging the impurities of my skin and starting over fresh. Refreshing, easy to use, and effective - what more could one ask for in a mask??
The last product that I was able to try was the
NeoStrata Problem Dry Skin Cream. It intrigued me because it claims to help severe dry skin, including Keratosis pilaris, which is a common skin condition in which a protein in the skin called keratin forms hard plugs within hair follicles (
making if feel like you have goose bumps on the back of your arms). And as most women (
and men) can attest, this is annoying and difficult to keep under control. There's nothing worse than someone rubbing your arm and saying, "Ooohh, someone's cold!" And you agree, not having the heart to say that you really just have a skin condition.
Ugh.
I was very skeptical that this cream would do
anything. I have tried lotions, thick body cream, scrubs - you name it. Some products help a
bit, but not as much as I would like and the bumps always seem to return. I immediately liked the NeoStrata cream for a few reasons - it doesn't have an over-powering scent (
as some creams can), it's not greasy, it absorbs easily, and a little definitely goes a long way! In fact, even with using it multiple times a day, I can see my tub lasting a
very long time!
So what exactly happened with the cream? Call me crazy, but I noticed a difference within just a few
days! After a week, it was as if I had never had the keratosis pilaris to begin with.
Seriously, where has this stuff been my whole life?! I have
never been able to find a product like this - it's as if it magically erases the bumps from my arms!

Overall, I am
so excited that I've found EssentialDermCare! These products are reasonably priced and work as promised! And the foundation and dry skin cream are truly unique products that by far surpassed
any other products I have ever tried! Three great products with great results; now that's what I'd call a victory! : )
