I just got an email from Time Warner cable, asking for us, the viewers, to help fight back against rising cable costs. They are one company; there are millions of us. I don't know about you, but I get sick and tired of paying more for TV and Internet every time you turn around! Especially these days when times are tough! I know some of you may think, "What is my opinion going to matter?" Think of it as a presidential election. You can be upset and cry about it all you want, but unless you vote (and get your voice heard!) nothing can change! And I think this is one issue Americans will be unified in together! (I don't think I know of a single person who wants to pay more for cable!!)
Here's what the email from Time Warner said,

No one likes paying more. You don’t. We don’t.
Yet, every time our contracts with TV program providers come up for renewal, that’s what we face.
Price increases. Big ones. Up to 300% more.
Sometimes we can avoid passing them on to you. Sometimes we can’t. Sometimes, a network will threaten to take your shows away if we don’t roll over.
Whenever that’s happened in the past, we’d make the best deal we could and hope that would be the end of it. But it never was. So no more.
The networks shouldn’t be in the driver’s seat on what you watch and how much you pay. You’re our customers, so help us decide what to do.
Let us know if you want us to Roll Over or Get Tough.
We’re just one company, but there are millions of you.
Together, we just might be able to make a difference in what America pays for its favorite entertainment."
Together, we can make a difference! : )
P.S. Want to know what ThriftyGrl wrote to Time Warner? I'm not a shy girl, I'll share! : )
"Way to take a stand and have a voice for the little guy Time Warner! It is absolutely ridiculous what the price of cable has come to, and what the TV networks want it to go to! Take away their huge paychecks, put them on an average income, and then see them fit a HIGHER cable bill into their budget! Get tough and stay tough! America is behind you on this! Thanks for fighting for us!"
